HYPERTENSION - THE SILENT KILLER

Hypertension is a term used for high blood pressure.
Blood pressure refers to the force within the arteries of the human body. There are two basic readings for blood pressure.
The first is the systolic (the higher number) and it describes the pressure within the arteries when the heart contracts. The second is the diastolic (the lower number) which describes the pressure when the heart is relaxing. There is no particular number to describe a normal blood pressure. It may between one to forty, that is, 1 to 40 millimeters of mercury (mmHg) within 24 hours depending upon the state of the person. That is, if the person is working or at rest. Blood pressure rises with excitement and falls with relaxation ans sleep in a normal healthy person. Nevertheless, it is better for the systolic, that is the number above the line, to be constantly below 140mmHg and on the otherhand, it is better to have the diastolic, the number below the line, constantly below 85mmHg. a relaxed person with a constant diastolic reading of say,90 will be considered to have a high blood pressure. for high blood pressure to be diagnosed, many factors are taken into consideration.
