OTHER FORMS OF FEVER
Other forms of fever include dengue fever. Dengue fever is also known as breakbone or dandy fever. It is caused by a virus which is spread by mosquitoes. Dengue fever has become much more common in many countries recently and occurs in epidemics usually during hot, rainy season. A person can get dengue fever more than once and repeated illnesses are often worse.

SYMPTOMS OF DENGUE FEVER
These include
- sudden high fever
-severe body aches, headache and sore throat
-feeling of illness, weakness and miserableness
-feeling of being well after 3 to 4 days for between a few hours to 2 days
-illness returns for 1 to 2 days often with a rash on hands and feet
rash spreads to arms, legs and finally to the body
-there may be bleeding into the skin or elsewhere

TREATMENT
There is no drug yet for dengue fever. The illness goes away by itself in a few days.
Enough rest, taking plenty of liquids and acetaminophen (not aspirin) for fever and pain.
In the case of bleeding, the patient can be treated for shock.

Dengue fever can be prevented through the control of mosquitoes by protection against their bites.
