PROTECT YOUR HEALTH
Protecting one's health is a task which requires continuous practice and utmost care. It goes beyond merely saying it. We need to protect our health in so many ways and maintaining good hygiene is one of them.
We practice good hygiene by keeping ourselves clean. This involves washing our hands because this is particularly important to our health and that of others. It helps in preventing the spread of infections or diseases. Research has it that about 80% of infections are spread or passed through unclean hands.  So, wash your hands regularly especially before eating, preparing or serving food. Hand washing should also be done before dressing or touching a wound and also after touching an animal, using the toilet, sneezing, coughing or blowing the nose as well as changing a baby's diaper.
Washing hands with soap and water proves more effective than using sanitizers.
We can wash our hands by wetting them in clean running water and soap, rubbing them together to make a lather and cleaning the nails, thumb, back of the hands and between the fingers in the process. The rubbing should be thorough for between 15 to 20 seconds, then rinse the hands in clean water and dry them with a clean cloth.
Another way of protecting our health is to avoid infectious disease. This is done by avoiding physical contact or sharing of eating utensils with any one who have a cold or the flu because secretions or the saliva of such persons can pass the illness to you. Vaccinations can also help to prevent some infections, but it is wiser to take precautionary measures with an infected person because the saying goes that, ''prevention is better than cure!''
We can also protect our health by keeping our homes clean. Cleaning the home requires an extra and conscious effort. Filth, litter, garbage and any other dirt should be removed or cleared and places where mosquitoes might breed, like unused or broken containers should be destroyed so as to stop them from breeding. Toilets should be properly cleaned and latrines well covered to keep out flies.
Protecting our health also has to do with avoidance of injury to our body. Safety rules should be adhered to whether in the home or on the road. Appropriate protective equipment like goggles, hand gloves, footwear, hearing equipment, etc should be worn at workshops. We should try to avoid excessive exposure to the sun so as to reduce cancer and premature aging. It is also necessary to avoid risky life styles and quit behaviors capable of raising our blood pressure and lung cancer or stroke.

STAY ACTIVE AND MOTIVATE YOURSELF
Regardless of age, we need regular physical exercise so as to stay active. Staying active physically can promote good health. However, physical exercises depend on age and one's state of health.
Motivation also improves our well-being. How can one motivate his or herself?
This can be done by reading and learning about basic ways of improving our health and how not to endanger it. Put the good habits learned into practice and put away the bad ones no matter how daunting that may be.
